Midsummer Bohemia

by emma 18. July 2013 11:10

It seems 70′s bohemia styling is really having a moment right now, we celebrated all things floppy hat and floral crown in our Sunshine State Of Mind shoot and it seems dress designer Dana Bolton is also embracing the aesthetic.

And beautiful gowns, Dana is definitely embracing beautiful gowns. Her latest collection of six unstructured yet luxe pieces is exquisite and deliciously photographed in the June sunshine by Kirsten Mavric.

There is a plethora of hair and make-up inspiration as well as some super pretty bouquets and headpieces, I am expecting a veritable pin-athon this afternoon lovelies. And if you are a redhead? LOVING the subtle soft green eyeshadow for W-day as seen on model Victoria.

Ask the Expert: Top Five Tips for Choosing a Reception Venue

by emma 6. June 2013 11:24

Thanks to Meredith Harrell, catering manager of wedding events at The Joule Dallas, for answering this week’s reader question:

We’re starting the overwhelming process of looking for a wedding reception venue. What are the top five things to keep in mind as we start touring reception spaces?

1. First impression is everything. The way you feel when you walk through the doors of that venue is the way your guest will feel as they enter your wedding. Make sure you instantly feel connected and you feel like it is an excellent reflection of you as a couple.

2. Ask yourself: “What is the most important aspect of my wedding?” If you want over-the-top florals and décor then it probably doesn’t make sense to spend 85 percent of your budget on the food and beverage at your wedding venue.

For more tips, follow Meredith after the jump.

3. It is important to know the maximum capacities of your venue. If you think your guest attendance could exceed that amount then you will want to be cognizant of that. There is nothing worse than making your guests feel uncomfortable in a space that is too small. You want everyone to be at ease and enjoy the ambiance of your wedding.

4. How much time is allocated for your setup and will you be the only wedding at that venue that day. This may not be important to you, but it is important to know and your vendors will certainly appreciate the information.

5. What is included with the venue? If, by chance, they have a fabulous house linen and charger then that could save you quite a bit of money! Some venues do not include tables and chairs and that cost will certainly add up more quickly than you can imagine.

I have always told my couples that the venue selection is one of the hardest parts of the wedding planning process but once you find the perfect venue, everything else will start to fall into place. One thing Dallas is not lacking is incredible wedding venues so for all the brides and grooms out there. Happy Hunting!

Keria Knightley marries in low key ceremony in South of France

by emma 7. May 2013 11:23

Actress Keira Knightley has married Klaxons star James Righton in the south of France.

The couple, who have been dating since 2011, wed in front of about 10 people in Mazan, Provence - close to where the bride's family has a holiday home.

Mayor Aime Navello told the Associated Press he married them at the town hall.

The short service was followed by a reception for family and friends, reported to have included Righton's bandmates and actress Sienna Miller.

Knightley, 28, announced her engagement to Righton, 29, last year.

"Keira was a charming bride, very modest and simple in her attitude, as was James," Mr Navello told the Daily Mail.

"I got the impression that it was a very moving experience for both of them."

The actress, who was Oscar-nominated for her performance in 2005's Pride and Prejudice, is the daughter of playwright Sharman Macdonald and actor Will Knightley.

She rose to fame in the British hit Bend it like Beckham, becoming an international star in films including Love Actually and the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise.

'More interesting'

Knightley also won critical acclaim for her performances in films such as Atonement, A Dangerous Method and, most recently, Anna Karenina.

Later this year, she will be seen in Jack Ryan - a prequel to previous Tom Clancy adaptations - playing Cathy Ryan opposite Chris Pine.

Singer and keyboard player Righton has performed with indie rock band the Klaxons since 2005. The group won a Mercury Music Prize in 2007 for their debut album Myths Of The Near Future.

In an interview last month, Knightley said she did not want an extravagant wedding day.

"We're not 'big wedding' types. I don't need to have all that. I'm just trying to enjoy the engagement bit.

parents are together after 40 years. The fights are there but they love each other.

"It's not like the first three months, the first two years... whatever it is, but I think it gets more interesting, or I hope so."

Keira Knightley to wed this weekend in South of France

by emma 30. April 2013 11:43

KEIRA Knightley will wed her musician fiance James Righton in a private

do in the South of France this weekend.

The couple are to get hitched in a small ceremony near Nice in front of family and friends.

Keira, 28, and James, 29, got engaged last summer and recently moved in together.

A source said: “Most of their friends will fly out for the wedding on Friday.

“They’ve been planning it for a while but wanted something small and private. They could get married in total private in stunning surroundings.”

Speaking about her upcoming nuptials last month, Keira said: “I could have six fake weddings. God, that would be expensive.

“We’re not big-wedding types. I don’t need to have all that. I’m just trying to enjoy the engagement bit.”

Keira dated her Pride & Prejudice co-star Rupert Friend for five years before splitting in January 2011.

She was introduced to Klaxons keyboardist James by mutual pal Alexa Chung. They live in a multi-million pound home in East London.

Keira recently appeared in the Sunday Times Rich List with a fortune of £30million.

Frankie from The Saturdays to Wed.

by Administrator 21. April 2013 09:06

Frankie Sandford is following in the footsteps of her bandmates Rochelle Wiseman and Una Healy by becoming a married woman, as the 24-year-old has announced her engagement to footballer Wayne Bridge.

The singer, who is one fifth of girl group The Saturdays, posted a picture on her Twitter feed which revealed the seriously impressive rock she now sports on her third finger.

Her caption read: "Guess what?!!!!" and the attached photo of the couple saw Frankie and Wayne take a back seat to the gem Frankie can now call her own.

The pair started dating at the end of 2010 and 32-year-old Wayne has supported Frankie through the public reveal of her battle with depression and the girls' bid to make it in America.

Her fellow Sats were among the first to congratulate the couple; Vanessa White gushed "Congrats @FrankieTheSats & Wayne! So happy for you guys. Woooooo xxx" while mum-of-one Una tweeted "So Happy for @FrankieTheSats and Wayne who have recently got engaged X"

Celebrity wedding planner Mark Niemierko was the brains behind the wedding of Rochelle Wiseman and Marvin Humes, so maybe they've passed his number over to Frankie and Wayne? Let the wedding planning commence.
